About me
» MUSIC ON AND I HAVE TIME FOR MYSELF. AND ALL OF MY FEELINGS CAN COME OUT, WHEN I PLAY MUSIC AND SING MY SONGS OUT LOUD. «
I’m Johannes, born in 1994, and I work full-time as an early childhood educator. Music has fascinated me since childhood, especially playing the guitar and singing. For many years, I’ve been active in various church pop bands, and in 2014 I began performing my own songs as a solo artist. Unfortunately, I never properly recorded them—until recently.
In 2020, I unexpectedly had to put my musical passion on hold. An ear infection led to tinnitus, and in 2021 a severe vocal cord inflammation followed. These health setbacks were a major challenge for me, but I didn’t give up. It was a long and intense journey back to music, requiring a lot of determination and even more training. I documented this journey on YouTube, producing songs and music videos to share my progress and my passion.
In 2023, I got in touch with music producer Chris Lass from Bremen. His expertise and coaching for music producers helped me tremendously. With his support, I was able to record, produce, mix, and master my first album, Don’t Give Up. This experience was incredibly enriching and showed me that perseverance and hard work truly pay off. The first single from the album was released in June 2024, and the full album was released on November 22, 2024.

My Music and Me
I started out on the recorder, moved on to the organ, and eventually found my way to the guitar. I fell in love with this instrument and stuck with it. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. My interest in other instruments never faded, though, and today I play pretty much anything I can get my hands on—piano, cajón, saxophone, bass, ukulele, and mandolin.
Stylistically, I would place myself in the singer-songwriter genre, but I’m strongly influenced by folk, indie folk, pop, pop rock, lo-fi hip hop, gospel, and worship music. This diversity is reflected in my songs, which can head in very different directions. But isn’t that exactly what makes music exciting?
Releases
Since 2014, I have released over 80 music videos. It all began with my first original songs, recorded at the “Eishaus.” These early works mark the beginning of my musical journey. Later on, I released cover versions of well-known pop songs, showcasing my versatility as a musician.
In June 2024, it was finally time for a new milestone: the release of my first single, “Dark Seasons Pass By.” After a longer break during which no new videos were released, this song marks a new chapter in my musical development.
The highlight of this exciting chapter came on November 22, 2024, when my first album, Don’t Give Up, was finally released to the world. This collection of songs is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and personal growth. I’m excited to share it with you.

Live
For many years, I’ve been performing live and have played several hundred concerts. It all started with the church pop band Colours of Life, followed later by Leuchtfeuer. Most of my performances, however, took place in spontaneously formed lineups with a wide range of different musicians. This diversity provided me with many valuable learning experiences and helped me grow as a musician.
Alongside this, I often worked as a sound engineer, supporting various bands and gospel choirs. This role deepened my understanding of the technical aspects of music production and gave me valuable insights into the world of live sound.
At some point, I began stepping onto the stage with my own solo material. Sometimes I performed entirely on my own, and at other times with different accompaniments—depending on what each song required.
